Loose bodies are gneerally cartilaginous sequelae of trauma or a degenerative process and may produce locking, swelling and pain in the knee. In athletes, they originate most often from the patella or the medial femoral condyle, and
osteochondritis
dissecans and osteochondral fractures are the most frequent causes of the loose bodis. Gant intrasarticular osteochondroma is rare cause of the loose body in the knee joint. Authors experienced 1 case of the loose body in the knee joint of the

in which the cause of the loose body was giant intraarticular osteochondroma, and loose body was removed by arthroscopy.
